Warren Road, Woodingdean
Find out about our plans to build 35 to 40 council flats to rent at affordable rates.
About the Warren Road project
We're planning to build 35 to 40 affordable council flats for rent in Woodingdean.
We're assessing the development potential of the site located on the southern side of Warren Road. The site includes Oak Cottage, Ash Cottage and the former outdoor public swimming pool.
This is part of the New Homes for Neighbourhoods programme. We'll rent the homes at affordable rates to households on the local housing register.
What's happening now at Warren Road
The scheme is currently at an early design stage. We would like to present early ideas to you and hear your views before we develop the proposals further.
Consultation drop-in session
We've sent an invitation letter to neighbouring properties and stakeholders to join a consultation drop-in session. In the session we'll share the proposals with the community. The architects, transport consultant and council officers will be on hand to answer any questions.
An online consultation will also be available in YourVoice, our digital engagement platform. We'll add the link to it here once it's live.
Project time plan
September 2026 to April 2027
The design team will be developing design proposals and will engage with the community during this period to inform the development progress.
Spring 2027
A planning application will be submitted in Spring 2027.
Once a planning application is submitted, a letter will be sent to resident to notify them of the planning application submission and reference number. The public will be able to comment through the planning register portal.
