A poll to elect a ward councillor for Goldsmid took place on Thursday 25 June 2026.
The by-election was called following the resignation of Councillor Jackie O'Quinn.
Nadia Barton Ahmad (Green Party) was elected as councillor for Goldsmid.
Results
- Nadia Barton Ahmad, Green Party – 2,037 votes
- Philip Berman, Labour Party – 1,357 votes
- Louis Bird, Conservative Party – 210 votes
- Glenn Kelly, Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition – 31 votes
- Kim Marie Leyland-Walker, Liberal Democrats – 214 votes
- Luke Willmoth, Reform UK – 304 votes
The turnout was 35.84%.
Who could vote
To vote in these elections, you had to be:
- registered to vote by Tuesday, 9 June 2026.
- a resident of Goldsmid ward or a registered Crown servant or service elector in respect of an address in the ward
- age 18 or over on polling day

- Tuesday 9 June – last day to register to vote
- Wednesday 10 June, 5pm:
- last day for us to receive your postal vote application
- last day to cancel your postal vote
- last day to change existing proxy arrangements
- Friday 12 June - postal votes will be dispatched
- Wednesday 17 June, 5pm:
- last day for us to receive new proxy vote applications
- last day for us to receive your Voter Authority Certificate application
- Friday 19 June – the first day to reissue replacement postal votes
- Thursday 25 June – polls open from 7am to 10pm
- Friday 26 June – ballot papers counted, with results expected in the afternoon
