A poll to elect a ward councillor for Goldsmid took place on Thursday 25 June 2026.

The by-election was called following the resignation of Councillor Jackie O'Quinn.  

Nadia Barton Ahmad (Green Party) was elected as councillor for Goldsmid.

Results  

  • Nadia Barton Ahmad, Green Party – 2,037 votes 
  • Philip Berman, Labour Party – 1,357 votes 
  • Louis Bird, Conservative Party – 210 votes 
  • Glenn Kelly, Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition – 31 votes 
  • Kim Marie Leyland-Walker, Liberal Democrats – 214 votes 
  • Luke Willmoth, Reform UK – 304 votes 

The turnout was 35.84%.

Who could vote

To vote in these elections, you had to be:

  • registered to vote by Tuesday, 9 June 2026.
  • a resident of Goldsmid ward or a registered Crown servant or service elector in respect of an address in the ward
  • age 18 or over on polling day

    • last day to cancel your postal vote
    • last day to change existing proxy arrangements
  • Friday 12 June - postal votes will be dispatched
  • Wednesday 17 June, 5pm:
    • last day for us to receive new proxy vote applications
    • last day for us to receive your Voter Authority Certificate application
  • Friday 19 June – the first day to reissue replacement postal votes
  • Thursday 25 June – polls open from 7am to 10pm
  • Friday 26 June – ballot papers counted, with results expected in the afternoon
