About
Capa First Response CIC is a specialist organisation supporting families experiencing Child-to-Parent Aggression and Harm (CPA), where a child or young person is using aggressive or harmful behaviours towards a parent or carer.
We provide neuro-affirming, trauma-informed and relational-informed support to families across the UK, recognising that many children and young people experiencing or displaying these behaviours have underlying neurodevelopmental differences, including autism, ADHD and learning differences, alongside trauma, anxiety or other unmet needs.
Our support aims to increase understanding, improve family relationships, reduce conflict, strengthen safety and help families feel less isolated. We work alongside parents and carers without blame, recognising that these behaviours are often a sign of significant unmet need rather than "bad parenting".
Our services include:
- FREE Weekly online parent/carer Drop-In sessions.
- Advice & Support appointments.
- Parent workshops.
- Targeted group programmes.
- Specialist one-to-one family support (subject to availability and eligibility).
- Information, resources and training for professionals.
- Capa Community Membership
We support families with children and young people up to the age of 25 years.
Weekly online parent/carer Drop-In sessions and other services are available at scheduled times throughout the year. Please see our website for the latest information.
Cost
Many of our services are free to families where funding or commissioned services are available. We also offer a range of low-cost workshops, specialist support and training. Details of current services and eligibility can be found on our website or by contacting us directly.
