About this walk

This compacted gravel path is ideal for wheeled users.  

It starts at the bottom of Stanmer Park (Lower Lodges) where there is a kiosk serving refreshments and accessible toilets.  

The path winds its way up through the historic landscape of Stanmer Park – designed in the 18th century, Stanmer Park is a Grade II registered landscape. At the top of the path, past Stanmer House (Grade 1 listed building), turn left to visit One Garden Brighton – Stanmer’s Walled Garden full of beautiful plants, a plant nursery, market, café and toilets.  

Or, turn left and pass the bus stop to visit Stanmer Village where there is also a café and toilets.

  1. From the bus stop at the entrance to Stanmer Park head towards the kiosk and playpark where the greenways trail begins. This is a compacted gravel path suitable for wheeled users. Follow the track up through the park (with the main access road to your right).
  2. When reaching Stanmer House the gravel path meets a tarmac footway. Continue straight and follow this footway past the house and up to the T Junction.
  3. At the T Junction turn right, cross the road with care, and follow the path past the church (on your right)Turn left here to visit the One Garden (walled garden and café).
  4. At the bend in the road ahead, the bus stop is opposite (next to the Long Barn). There is a café and toilets if you continue ahead into Stanmer Village.
