Walk 5: Sheepcote to Ovingdean Loop

Bus numbers 2, 22 at Downland Road Stop (on Warren Road)

1. From the bus stop cross the road with care. Enter the Warren Road car park and exit from the gate at the bottom right hand side . Cross the race course and go through the gate onto Sheepcote Valley.
2. Turn left and follow the path around the edge of top edge of the valley with the race course and then the golf course to your right .
3. Continue until you get to a bridleway gate (with a field gate next to it), on the left. Go through the gate onto the golf course.
4. Follow the track through the golf course, down the fill (through a gate with a field gate next to it) until you get to a main junction.
5. There is another set of double gates here, go through and turn left .
6. At the next junction take the right hand track along the valley bottom until you get to a bridleway to the right.
7. Turn right here and head up the hill on a field edge path (fence to the right of you).
8. Once you get to the top, at Old Parish Lane bridleway (tarmac), turn left and continue on until you see the metal field gate and bridleway gate in front of you.
9. Turn left before the gate (do not go through it), and follow the field edge path, turning left, right and then left again.  
10. Go through a double set of gates and continue straight to the hedge line in front. Go through the gate in the hedge and turn right up the hill.
11. At the top of the hill, go through the gate and turn right.  Continue straight - back to Warren Road car park and retrace steps to the bus stop.
