Walk 7 – Bevendean Down long loop

Bus number 48 at Heath Hill Avenue stop

1. From the bus stop turn right up Heath Hill Avenue until you get to the bridleway entrance on you left. Go up this stone track and through a metal kissing gate.
2. Continue on this stone track until you get to a 4 way junction and which you turn right and follow the bridleway, as it turns left towards the Falmer Road.
3. At the Falmer Road, cross the road with care, and join the tarmac Falmer Road Path. Cross over this tarmac path and go through the bridleway gate opposite. Continue along the grassy field edge (fence to the left of you).
4. When you reach a wooded copse turn left and go through the bridleway gate. Follow the field edge path down the hill (with the copse to the right of you) and back up the other side of the valley. Go through the bridleway gate here and follow the farm track up to the next wooded copse.
5. At this copse turn left and follow the farm track towards Falmer Village. Turn left when you get to the farm yard and follow the track which skirts the village. The track will then turn right and you will re-join the Falmer Road Path (tarmac).
6. Turn right onto the Falmer Road Path and continue on  the path, through a chicane, to the village road. 
7. At the village road turn left and head towards Falmer Road. Cross with care and continue straight  down Village Way towards the Falmer Stadium and University .
8. Before the university car park there is a gate and footpath to your left. Go through the gate and follow the field edge path with the woodland to your right. The path turns right and then left. Continue straight up the hill back to the four way junction (point 2).
9. At the junction turn right and retrace your steps back to the bus stop on Heath Hill Avenue.
