Mayor of Brighton & Hove's statement on the birth of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's son

Following the announcement of the birth of a son to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the Mayor of Brighton & Hove, Cllr Dee Simson, said:

“Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on this happy news. I am delighted to join the many well wishers from around the world in celebrating the arrival of the Royal baby. 

“It was a privilege to welcome the Royal couple on their first visit to our city last autumn. I hope we shall soon see their return to the county as a Royal family. 

“As a grandmother myself, I also send congratulations to Her Majesty the Queen on the occasion of the birth of her eighth great grandchild.”
