Fly-tipping is the illegal dumping of waste, items or materials. It's a criminal offence and you can receive an unlimited fine or court action.
Leaving household items, appliances and furniture by communal bins is fly-tipping. It can prevent us from being able to collect the bins, and can stop other residents from being able to use them. Do not fly-tip.
We know that some residents leave items in the hope they will be re-used by others in the community. This is still fly-tipping and you may face enforcement action if you do it.
If you live in a block of flats, you may have large shared bins in the bin store for household rubbish. You'll also have recycling bins that take mixed recycling, food waste, or glass.
If you are elderly, disabled or for any other reason can’t take your rubbish and recycling to a communal bin on the street, you could get an assisted collection.
