Report a missed bin, box or caddy collection
Find out when you should report a missed bin, box or caddy, when we catch up with collections and how to report a missed collection.
How to report a missed collection
If your rubbish, recycling, garden waste or food waste hasn't been collected, you can use our form below to report it.
After you enter your address, you'll be able to check the status of your collection, and view further details.
If the status of your collection is 'completed' but your bin has not been emptied, there will be a green button for you to report the collection as missed.
If the status of your collection is anything else, we will already be aware of an issue, and aim to organise a catch-up collection.
Catch-up collections
We aim to arrange a catch-up collection within:
- 48 hours for rubbish and food waste
- 72 hours for recycling and garden waste
On some occasions, due to operational reasons, we may not be able to schedule a catch-up collection. Your collection will then be on your next scheduled collection day.
When this happens, we will automatically record your missed collection and prioritise this on the next scheduled collection day.
Why we miss collections
We miss collections because:
- our vehicle may have been unable to gain access to your property (for example roadworks or other parking obstructions)
- sometimes, at short notice or whilst out making collections, a vehicle may breakdown and a replacement vehicle may not be available
- your bin may have contained contaminated items - find out more about what we can and cannot collect in each bin
- your bin may not have been at the correct collection point by 6am (5am for food waste)
